2021 Chevrolet Tahoe

Chevrolet redesigned its spacious and stylish SUV, the Tahoe, for the 2021 model year. Check out what changed and which features come standard.

Trim Levels

The 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe is a full-size SUV that has an oversized front grille, bold lighting elements, and aggressive styling features, along with a redesigned rear end. It's available in six trim levels: LS, LT, RST, Z71, Premier, and High Country. The base LS trim comes standard with acoustic laminated glass, power and heated side mirrors, LED exterior lighting, roof rails, and 18-inch silver-painted aluminum wheels. The LT adds a hands-free liftgate, while the RST includes a unique front fascia, black trim elements, and larger 22-inch wheels. For outdoor adventurers, the off-road-ready Z71 trim is the best bet, thanks to its upgraded front fascia that increases the approach angle, all-terrain tires, tow hooks, front skid plates, and two-speed transfer case for low-range gearing. The Premier trim includes magnetically controlled shock absorbers. A bronze front grille comes standard with the top-level High Country trim, while a panoramic sunroof is available as an option.

Engine

On the lower five trim levels, the standard engine is a capable 5.3-liter V-8 that produces 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. This engine pairs with a 10-speed automatic transmission that delivers smooth, even shifting. With the High Country comes a more powerful 6.2-liter V-8 engine rated at 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Chevrolet also has plans to release an optional 3.0-liter turbodiesel V-6 that will be available as an option on all trim levels except the Z71.

Performance

Four-wheel drive is an option on all Tahoe trim levels and comes standard on the Z71. No matter which engine you choose, you'll be impressed with the power and acceleration capabilities. Chevrolet also added a new independent rear suspension on the redesigned Tahoe that delivers improved handling and ride quality. For an even more comfortable ride, consider adding the optional adaptive air suspension with load leveling.

Interior

Even the base trim of the 2021 Tahoe comes equipped with a six-speaker sound system with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration, cloth upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 10.2-inch touch screen, and power-adjustable front seats. The LT adds wireless device charging, a premium Bose sound system, leather upholstery, and heated front seats. The RST trim features sporty seats with contrasting stitching on the upholstery, while the Z71 even more upgraded interior accents. The Premier trim features second-row bucket seats, an upgraded Bose audio system, and heated and ventilated front seats. With the top High Country trim, you get premium comfort elements, while a rear-seat entertainment system is available as an upgrade.

Safety Features

All 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe models come with airbags throughout all three rows of seating, forward collision warning with automatic braking, traction and stability control, anti-lock brakes, and a rearview camera. The higher trims include additional safety features, such as blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, a head-up display, a surround-view camera, lane-keeping assist, rear pedestrian alert, and parking sensors.
